Tips & Tricks To Shopping On Romwe

I’ve seen so many people tweet things like ‘does anyone know whether I can trust Romwe and SheIn?’/’what is the quality like on Romwe?’ recently and as a Romwe and SheIn veteran I feel like I’m in a good position to give advice on how to know what to order, what bad quality pieces to avoid and the best tips to getting amazing pieces on Romwe, and similar sites.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS CHECK SIZING

This sounds like ridiculous advice, but it is incredibly important advice when you’re shopping on Romwe and SheIn. There is no consistent sizing across the site, so it is almost certain that an XS in a midi skirt will not be the same XS in a mini skirt on the same site. In fact, I’ve bought practically the same skirt in two different colours from Romwe in the past and due to differing sizes they fit me completely differently.

Each different item has their own individual size charts, with shoulder, waist, hip and other necessary measurements on them and it is so important to read them and measure yourself accordingly. All of the items that I’ve bought from these sites have been correct to this sizing chart, so although there is not consistent sizing across the site the item specific sizing is true to size.

AVOID THIN MATERIALS AND CREPE

The most common items that cause problems on these sites is their thinner clothing, such as flimsy summer tops and light, loose trousers. I’ve seen so many people complain about the quality, and even I myself have fallen at this hurdle whilst shopping on Romwe and SheIn. I’ve now learnt that, as a general rule, you should try and stay clear of thinner materials, such as crepe and really thin cotton, as they are likely to be incredibly thin and not very good quality.

However, saying that, I do sometimes purchase certain items, despite knowing they’ll be thin, if that will aid me. For example, certain skirts and dresses that I bought over the summer that I knew I’d be wearing in hot climates, or just throwing on over a bikini, I didn’t mind about as much. I wouldn’t do this though if I was planning on wearing these items into work or college, as it would look a little unprofessional.

READ REVIEWS

Romwe and SheIn are very helpful in this respect, at the bottom of every product there is a list of reviews from other buyers, some even including photos. I always make sure to check these to see what other people think of the quality, colour and overall review of the product. To do with this point, if you do end up buying from these sites make sure to go and leave a review on the product, especially if it was a little dodgy, to help other people.

BE AWARE THAT COLOURS MAY CHANGE

There have been quite a few times that I have ordered what I was thought was a blush pink pair of shoes off Romwe and when it has arrived it’s been nude. The colours they show on the website may not always be 100% true to the product, so just be wary of that when ordering. However, I have many things that have arrived at my door exactly as they have been advertised so this is not a general rule across the board.

WHAT ITEMS WOULD I RECOMMEND?

Anything denim or cord – I’ve never had a problem with any denim or cord pieces that I’ve purchased from these sites. The cord pinafores may not be the thickest, but they are as thick as a similar one I bought from Boohoo, and they do not look in any way cheap or tacky.
Dresses – I have bought quite a few dresses from Romwe and SheIn and they’ve all been absolutely gorgeous. The lavender print dress in my Dressing In Florals For Spring post was from SheIn and that is wonderful quality with a beautiful print.
Jumpers and roll necks – Jumpers are always amazing quality and thick when I order from here and their roll necks are the thickest and warmest I’ve found anywhere. I’d definitely recommend both of these things! They have so much choice when it comes to knitwear as well that you can truly find something for everyone.
Shoes – Romwe and SheIn shoes fit like a dream; I have got heels, boots and flats and they all fit amazing. They’re always bringing out new designer dupes so I’d definitely head here first before spending more on another high street replica, or the real thing.

I have a YouTube video with all of my tips and mini Romwe haul over on my channel; check it out here!
