Inspiration for the Week: Vol. 7

This week brings Valentine’s Day and a whole lot of love. Even as a single person I adore how love just feels like it’s in the air this week, and it has to be said that wherever there’s romance, happiness is very soon to follow. I’ll definitely be celebrating with lots of me-time, watching romance films and reminding myself about how important loving yourself is, because everyone is capable of being their own Valentine.

With spring on the horizon I’m feeling a lot more inspired this week, and my creative juices are definitely flowing. My main creative outlet at the moment is my final major project at university, focused on the reclamation of femininity, and I’ve loved experimenting with everything pink, pretty and feminine whilst designing. The gorgeous pink and blue tones in this week’s imagery really reflect this, and I’m so happy to finally be designing something that feels so authentically me, and surrounding myself with imagery that inspires me to do so is a top priority.

There’s so much I love about this; gorgeous crockery is one of my loves and I can’t wait until I have a house of my own to fill with beautiful plates, glasses and tablecloths. This tablescape is so dreamy, and I love the colour palette of the floral centre pieces, with the little pop of blue.

As you can see, I’ve got blue on the brain this week, and I loved this artwork from small British artist Sarah Lewis. Blue and white or cream is such a classic colour palette, and I love the fun motifs in this selection of paintings. I think my favourite has to be either the chandelier or the jug of flowers!

Lofty Frocks is a small, sustainable dress company based in the UK and this week I have fallen in love with their Charlotte dress in this dreamy porcelain-esque rose print fabric. I love that they’re a made to order brand, made from retro and repurposed fabric, making them such an ethical company, and that they’re creating such gorgeous vintage style pieces.

This stunning mural caught my eye this week and I am in love with the soft blue shades, it’s like an image from a ginger jar has been placed on the wall and I adore the effect. This account had so many inspiring images!

The elegant bed, the clashing prints, the tiled floor; what is there not to love about this?! I adore how historical and classic this feels, whilst still making me feel like I want to crawl straight into bed.

What I’m reading…

I’m currently reading ‘Moon’ by Robert Massey and Alexandra Loske, a non-fiction book exploring the moon and how it has been presented throughout history through to the modern day. I’ve been loving the couple of chapters that I’ve read through so far on the moon’s connection with femininity, and it’s importance to ancient civilisations and their deities.

What I’m watching…

I’ve been making my way through season 2 of Sweet Magnolias this past week, and I’ve loved having this easy watching show back on my screen; I’ve missed the warm feeling it brings, and although it’s such a new show, it’s quickly become one of my comfort series. I love how it praises the importance of female friendship, and the support it brings to our lives in times of need. I can only hope and pray that I can be as good a friend to my own close friends as Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue are to each other. Plus, it makes me crave a trip to the deep south, there seems to be something so inviting about a close knit small town in the summer time that I so badly want to experience.

What I’m listening to…

As a massive Swiftie I was very excited for Ed Sheeran’s latest collaboration with Taylor that dropped last week. I loved ‘The Joker and the Queen’ even before Taylor joined the track, but I love it even more now. I’ve been a fan of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran for so long now, and I love every time they collaborate with each other, because it’s sure to be a super sweet hit. I’ve also had ‘Memory I Don’t Mess With’ by Lee Brice, ‘Hell or Highwater’ by Zach Bryan, ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version)’ by Taylor Swift and ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me’ by The Mamas & The Papas on repeat all week.

Love Chloe x
