How To Style: White Denim Midi Skirt

I’d never tried out a denim midi skirt, but since purchasing this one a little over a month ago, it has become one of my go-to styles. This was one of those purchases that I didn’t go into the shop intending to buy, but it ended up being the best thing I could have spent my money on. I’ve styled it with all sorts of tops and blouses, and it is such a versatile and wearable piece, which has become such an asset to my wardrobe.

The incredibly versatile off-white colour and gorgeous tortoiseshell buttons make it a perfect piece to wear as we transition from winter into spring. Whether it’s styled up with a neutral jumper or a bolder patterned piece it looks ever so classy, and screams Parisian chic to me.

Paired with a nude jumper…

This gorgeous Bishop’s sleeve nude jumper is one of the most classic and pretty pieces in my wardrobe and it looks stunning paired with this denim midi skirt. The jumper originally came with a navy and red striped ribbon to tie through the holes, but for the purpose of this outfit I decided to switch this out for a cream coloured ribbon to match the off-white skirt.

I paired the jumper and skirt with these super classy and comfortable mules, and accessorised with my Aspinal Lottie bag, which is the perfect neutral coloured bag, and a straw design headband to achieve a classy, demure look. I’ve been loving accessorising with headbands recently and this is such a staple one; the neutral colour and natural looking material works with so many different outfits and it looks so cute.

Paired with an on trend pattern…

Animal print is all over the place at the minute, and has been one of the biggest trends for months now, so I decided to see how I could incorporate it into some of my outfits. The tortoiseshell buttons, which visually is very similar to leopard print, works well with the patterned top and ties the look together well.

I paired this look with a nude and black bag, which is unfortunately quite a few years old so I couldn’t link it, but it matches the colours within the top perfectly so I just had to add it to this outfit. I also added some rose gold jewellery, see my post about accessories so shop my favourite jewellery pieces, to keep to the brassy, gold tones.

Paired with a patterned scarf…

Moving from a bolder printed look to a much subtler, and possibly more me, patterned look. For a long time I was a bit scared by the animal print trend as I felt it was a little out of reach for me and my very classic style. This ‘cool’ trend didn’t seem to match my wardrobe very well and I didn’t want to buy in to a trend that I was wearing just for the sake of wearing it. The previous look is probably as bold as I would take the animal print look whilst still staying true to my personal style, but for a different, more classic look I decided instead to use accessories.

Because I was accessorising with such bold sunglasses and a scarf I decided to go for a very nude top to act as a neutral base. As it is a very subtle colour, along with the off-white skirt, it doesn’t detract from the bold accessories and let’s them take centre-stage.

Unfortunately, the skirt I’m wearing has actually sold out, but I’ve managed to find a ton of gorgeous alternatives:

What is your favourite way that I styled up this skirt? Tell me in the comments below!

Gosh I love how it looks with a patterned blouse! It’s so chic but quite ‘sexy’ (if that makes sense?) at the same time!
