Castañer Wedges From Day to Night

I’m trying to stay optimistic about travel this summer (as long as everyone is safe enough to do so of course!), and so I thought I’d do a holiday classic, a day-to-night outfit post. When deciding on what to pack for a trip I often find myself trying to bring shoes that work in as many outfits as possible. You don’t have much space in a suitcase, so it makes sense that you should wear the shoes you do manage to fit as many times as possible.

Espadrilles are some of my most worn shoes in summer, and when thinking of shoes that I could easily style up for day and night I immediately thought of this gorgeous lemon pair of Castañer wedges. They also come in so many other colours, some of which I’ve got in my wardrobe, and I’ve linked some of my favourites below.

For the day…

Top – Hand made by me! First seen here // Jeans – Zara // Espadrilles – Castañer // Earrings – New Look (old, similar here)

A shirred top is a classic for the summer; they’re so stretchy and comfortable, and I love the shoulder tie details on this one. I actually made this top myself last summer for my trip to Rome, but I’ve found a couple of similar alternatives online in yellow and pink; though the top I’ve linked does come in a ton more colours. If you do want to try making one yourself, they’re super duper easy if you have a sewing machine; feel free to message me and I can give you instructions.

I’ve styled the super stretchy top with a more structured (yet just as comfortable!) pair of jeans. These are my favourite pair in my wardrobe; as you guys know I don’t wear jeans (or trousers at all!) very often, so if you find me in jeans then you know they’re going to be a fabulous pair. Zara are my go-to place for good quality denim, and surprisingly, this style actually works well for us petite girls, with no need for cropping. However, they are intended to be more of a culotte cut, so they’d work on taller girls as well.

I’ve had the earrings I’m wearing for a couple of years now, but I’ve found a similar pair here. Floral earrings are such a delicate touch, and something I definitely suggest adding to your collection if you’re wanting to create a feminine, summer look. I’ve found a couple more styles here, here, and a more luxe option here. I used to often forget about jewellery when composing an outfit, but I’m slowly beginning to realise how much it can really elevate a look, and tie everything together. I’m on the look out for some more cute pieces, so if you know of any small jewellery brands that I could support, please let me know!

Of course, I paired this look with the lemon yellow Castañer wedges, to tie the whole look together. The pops of yellow amongst the white just screams summer to me, and I could see myself wearing this look for a casual summer day, to go out for brunch with friends, or have a stroll around the park.

For the night…

Cami – Primark // Shorts – Mango (old, similar here) // Espadrilles – Castañer // Bag – Primark // Earrings – New Look (similar here)

To switch up the look for nighttime I swapped out my casual jeans for a tailored pair of cream shorts, which are one of my go-to pieces in the summer. There’s something so classy and put-together about a simple pair of shorts, and the style is so flattering as it pulls the waist in and elongates the legs. These are last year from Mango, but I’ve linked a similar pair above.

I don’t often wear bright colours like orange, but there’s something so fun about this cami that I couldn’t resist. I also have a pair of orange espadrilles in my collection, see them here, that I often style this top up with, but for this look I decided to switch it up a little and add my yellow shoes and this fun yellow bag. This bag is one of the most colourful and jazzy pieces in my wardrobe, and I often find myself reaching for it in the summer months. I love the look of a silky scarf wrapped around the handle of a bag, it gives off such a Mediterranean chic vibe, and I definitely need to invest in more scarves to replicate this look on more of my summery bags. Silk scarves are also an up and coming trend, especially when worn as a top, so this would be a great investment piece.
