What I’ve Got Planned For September

September is one of my favourite parts of the year for a few reasons; not only is it my birthday month, it is also a chance for a fresh start. For the majority of my life I have started a new school year each September, so the idea of September symbolising a clean slate and fresh start is ingrained in my head. This September however is even more special; I am starting university later this month, and I am also turning twenty; two pivotal moments in my life. I am hoping that September will be the best month of the year so far, as it is no secret that the year of being nineteen has not been my best, and that I will look back on this month with fondness.

What fashion pieces am I searching for?

CREAM FUR COAT

I already have a couple of fur coats in my collection, a classic black one and a gorgeous pink one, that I wear throughout winter, but I’d love to add a cream fur coat to my wardrobe. I’ve spotted a beautiful, and fairly affordable, one in H&M and I feel like this will be in my wardrobe by the end of the month.

MIDI SKIRTS

It’s no secret that I love midi skirts and I’d love to add a few more to my wardrobe as we move into autumn. In particular, I am looking for a neutral nude or rust pleated skirt and an autumnal coloured patterned piece, like the one I mentioned in my previous post.

What beauty products am I hoping to try?

THE ORDINARY PEEL

In August I invested a lot into a whole new skincare routine, a lot of which I have already started using on a regular basis, but the one item I still haven’t got round to trying out is The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. I can’t wait to try out this product and, hopefully, see its fabulous effect on my skin.

What am I up to?

September is my busiest month of the year so far, and also the most exciting. I am moving away to university, turning twenty, holding a birthday party and spending a lot of time with friends and family.

STARTING UNIVERSITY

On the 23rd of September I am moving to Leicester to begin studying Contour Fashion at De Montfort University, and it is something that I have been working years for. This is something I’ve been wanting to do since I was fourteen years old, so the fact that it is quickly becoming a reality is absolutely crazy. I can’t wait to finally be doing something I love, meeting loads of new people and starting a fresh, independent life.

TURNING TWENTY

I am sure that there will be plenty of birthday content nearer the time but I am actually really happy to be turning twenty. The idea of not only a brand new year, but also a brand new decade, is so inviting right now, and I am truly treating it as a fresh start. Coupled with moving out I am using this birthday to create a new mindset, really work on myself and endeavour to make the next decade of my life a happy and healthy one.

What did I accomplish last month?

With university in mind I was searching for more casual pieces, such as comfortable jumpers and easy pieces to throw on for lectures, and this definitely dictated some of my buys this month. I didn’t actually do much shopping in August but the pieces that I did pick up were definitely more wearable, day to day pieces.

I was also searching for a bell shaped skirt but I have not managed to pick one up. As this is quite a summery piece I may have to wait until next year to find one on the high street, unless I manage to pick one up in the sales, so this is definitely on my wishlist for next year!
