My sister gave me this gorgeous Missguided beauty gift set for Christmas and I’m so excited to share my thoughts on it with you darlings. I didn’t even know that Missguided had a beauty range, besides their perfume, so I was shocked to discover that they had liquid lipsticks, eyeshadow, nail varnish and a whole collection of cream blushers, bronzers and highlights. There are four lipsticks, eyeshadows and nail varnishes in this set, as well as a cream blusher, bronzer, highlight and strobe cream. I’ve created a YouTube video where I try out a selection of the products in a makeup look, so if you’d like to see these products in action you can watch that here. I’m in no way a beauty guru but I have always loved makeup so I hope my unconventional, imperfect approach to these products will be helpful to you, or at least give you a giggle.

I’d never used cream blusher or bronzer before so I was excited to try these out. There is actually quite a lot of product in these little tubes, and you don’t need much to add pigment to your face, which makes these products very cost effective. My favourite products out of this cream selection was the ‘blush’ blusher and the ‘glow’ highlighter, though I wasn’t a fan of the ‘gleam’ bronzer as I felt its terracotta colour didn’t match well with my skin tone. However, if you have a darker skin tone than mine this may work better for you.

I was very impressed with the eyeshadow pigments in this set, especially the pink one (obviously!). All of them, especially the darker colours, were very pigmented, though awfully glittery and had a lot of fallout. These were definitely a pre-foundation eye shadow look sort of eye shadow, else you’ll be left picking glitter off your cheeks. I must add though, the colour was very long lasting and hours later the colour still persisted, even without the use of makeup setting spray.

The one thing I wasn’t a fan of was the collection of matte liquid lipsticks, I’m definitely more of a natural, silky lipstick formula kind of girl and I’m not a fan of the drying nature of a matte lip. However, I did like the colour of the lipsticks, especially the second mid-tone pink. If you’re a regular matte lipstick wearer then you’d probably love these, and I love the shade range, they have every nude covered. From a simplistic nude colour to a dark wine, there’s a go-to colour for everyone.

This set also features a selection of four nail varnishes, which goes from a soft baby pink all the way to a deep, dark black. I think I’d definitely get the most use out of the baby pink and grey colour, but I could potentially add an accent nail, or even some decoration using the Barbie hot pink and black colours.
