Blogmas Day Twenty One – My Christmas Makeup Look

I don’t typically share my makeup looks on here, as I’m no beauty guru by any means, but I thought I’d share my fairly simple Christmas makeup look with you all. I have always loved makeup, and even though I’m not the most talented, I do enjoy it and I may end up sharing more makeup looks with you as we move into the New Year; if this is something you’d like to see please tell me in the comments down below!

My go-to foundation for more formal occasions is The Ordinary Coverage Foundation, which provides a medium coverage, slightly dewy look and works with my skin to make it look glowy and pretty all day long. To apply it I use my Bare Minerals Luxe Performance foundation brush, which helps apply the foundation smoothly and evenly, and adds to the full coverage.

The powder that I’ve used literally ever since I started using makeup is the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder, I have repurchased this powder countless times and it never fails to make my skin look airbrushed and perfect. It also holds my foundation really well and if my skin does start to go oily throughout the day one swipe of this powder does the trick immediately.

To add a bronzed glow I use the W7 Cheeky Trio bronzer which is the perfect blend of a golden shade with a rich chocolatey brown. I dust this under my cheek bones, along my jawline and across the top of my forehead to add shadows. I also use the blusher shade from this palette as it is the perfect coral pink shade, which works perfectly with my skin tone to add a natural rosy glow.

For contour my go-to palette is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette; I use the middle contour shade to really define my cheek bones on top of my bronzer. I’ve used this palette for years and I can’t recommend this contour shade more, if you’ve got a similar skin tone to me. I also use the highlight shades from this palette to add a little shimmer to my face; I blend the pink and gold shimmer shades together to dust across my cheekbones and down my nose. Although these shades look incredibly glittery in the palette they appear on the face as very subtle shimmer shades which add just the right amount of highlight; sparkly enough for a glam look but it doesn’t look like you’ve upended a pot of glitter on to your face.

For the eyes my favourite palettes include my collection of Sleek palettes and the Revolution Pro Supreme Eyeshadow Palette in Captivate. I use a mixture of colours from these two palettes to create a subtle and easy to do smokey eye, with a little sparkle on the lids. I then add the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara which never fails to lengthen my lashes and add volume.

I can’t do a Christmas look without a bold red look and my go-to red lipstick is the AVON True Colour Lipstick in the shade ‘Red’. I unfortunately can’t link AVON lipsticks so I’ve linked to some other red shades and formulas that I recommend above. I always add a red lip liner and lip balm underneath my lipstick to keep my lips hydrated and long lasting colour all day.

What is your Christmas look this year?

Love Chloe x

I’m the complete opposite! I have pretty small eyelids so when I do super dramatic makeup, because I’m not the best at it, I look a bit silly. I love your more dramatic looks though, they suit you so much and make your eyes look GORGEOUS xx
