The Makeup I’ve Relied On All Summer

When it comes to creating great beauty products Soap & Glory are experts; whether it’s their renowned Clean On Me collection or their luscious ranges of bath products and face masks, they have become a go-to for many beauty lovers in need of something luxurious in the bath or shower without spending a lot. Their makeup line however was something I’d never tried before, I’d seen it in Boots time and time again but I’d never had the chance to pick anything up, so I was overjoyed when Soap & Glory sent this little package over.

This gorgeous makeup bag was filled with four different products; the first one I was drawn to was The Sexy Mother Pucker lipstick, which I’d heard one of my friends rave about. The deep nude colour and silky texture makes this a great lipstick and the colour is perfect as an everyday colour as we transition into autumn. As I prefer a more hydrated, glossy lip to a matte lip nowadays (try telling that to my fifteen year old self who wouldn’t buy a lip product unless it was guaranteed to dry my lips until they were drier than the Sahara!) I more often than not layer this lipstick with the Sexy Mother Pucker XL Extreme Plump Lipgloss. This lipgloss not only adds that glimmering shine, it also has plumping properties, which gives that glamorous Hollywood style pout in under thirty seconds. I’d only tried a plumping lipgloss once before and I wasn’t quite ready for the tingling sensation so if you’re trying it for the first time take it from me, less is more – you only need a tiny, tiny bit of lipgloss else you will experience a pins and needles type feeling in your lips, which isn’t fun!

For a more defined eye look, or if I’m going out partying, I like to add a little eye liner to really make my eyes pop. I find that the dark colour of the eye liner really contrasts my blue eyes and adds a special little sparkle. The felt tip style of the Supercat eyeliner makes for an easy application and the ability to make a super sharp, defined wing, if that’s the look you’re going for. This style of eye liner is my personal favourite as it makes the whole process so much easier!

I’m not going to lie, when I realised that the fourth product was a brow product I was a little disappointed. As someone who never really does anything with my brows I was hesitant to test it out and felt that it would probably sit unused in my makeup bag for the next few months. What I wasn’t expecting was that I’d try it out once, in a ‘I might as well give it a go’ type of way, and absolutely fall in love. I’d stayed away from doing my brows because I like my natural shape and didn’t want all the fuss of having to fill them properly, with the Archery DIY Brow Bar however it made everything so easy. I brush through my brows with a little of the darker shade and voila – I’m done! Just a little more colour on my brows has definitely upped my brow game entirely and I don’t actually know how I went without before. Out of all four products this has surprisingly become my favourite, even more surprising as I thought it would go unused, and I’ll definitely repurchase it.
