How To Tackle Blogger Event Anxiety

I went to my first blogger event a couple of weeks ago and I’m not going to lie to you, I was terrified. The moment I received the invitation I was overwhelmed with excitement and happiness, I really did have a ‘really? They want me?’ but underneath all that there was niggling doubt. The idea of walking into a room full of bloggers, who I immediately presumed were more established than me, and not knowing anyone, scared me so much and I even contemplated not going.

I spent the day of the event convincing myself to go and eventually mustered up enough courage to decide to go (though I did bring my mom along…). That is one tip I’d definitely give, if the company holding the event is okay with you bringing a plus one then bring along someone that you trust. It’ll calm you down, boost your confidence and they get to join in with the fun!

When I got there I realised how silly I’d been! Everyone at the event was so kind and welcoming, especially the PR company, and the atmosphere was so chilled. It was so much nicer than I’d been building it up to be in my head and although my conversation was a bit stilted at first, because of nerves, I ended up chatting to other bloggers and I can’t wait for my next event!

For anyone who’s worried about attending events because of anxiety reasons, or just general nerves, it is honestly nowhere near as scary as you think. I am reminded day after day how welcoming the blogging community really is, so why on Earth would blogging events be full of mean, malicious people? Have fun, make friends and build your blog!

Also, can we please just recognise how gorgeous this folk art is? I was pretty proud of myself for making these!

Love Chloe x

Thank you to Rewired PR for inviting me along!

Love this, the blogger community is honestly so lovely, I remember being so intimidated when I started my blog but everyone just supports everyone! We do need reminding some times because anxiety can make people think otherwise x
