Broderie anglaise is one of my favourite summer fabrics, it looks so classic and perfect for warmer days, and I am loving this super laid-back broderie top for summer. I’ve been loving shirred tops with tie shoulders, just like the lemon yellow one I wore in Rome, which I actually made myself, and I think they look so fun paired with shorts and trousers.
The long peplum hem is so comfortable (and covers the food babies from all those summer barbecues!) whilst also looking cute. However, the long peplum also meant that I did struggle to find something to pair it with for a while, but I love how it looks with these paper-bag waist denim shorts. It provides a perfect contrast to the white, whilst letting the top take centre stage, and I love how comfy and casual it is, whilst still saying true to my personal style.
The ditsy daisy print in the broderie anglaise looks so cute and isn’t as ornate as some other broderie detailing I’ve seen, which makes it look more chilled out and fun; perfect for laid-back summer days.
