Vol XV: Walks in the Park and the Start of Spring

The weather here in England has definitely lived up to the term ‘April showers’ this week, but I still managed to get out see the beginnings of spring popping up all around me. On Friday morning I went for a long walk around Sutton Park with one of my oldest friends, where we had a much-needed catch up. Seeing old friends has a way of rejuvenating your soul and warming your heart, and I always feel so boosted up after seeing Maddie, so that was definitely the highlight of the week.

WHAT’S INSPIRED ME THIS WEEK

As a fashion designer, and general creative type, I am constantly seeking inspiration wherever I am, and these posts are a way to document what has ignited something within me this past week. Whether its artwork I’ve seen online, photography that moved me, or a collection of colour in nature that kick-started a creative idea in my head, I’ll be sharing four ideas that have brought me joy in the past seven days.

R. READING

This week I’ve been reading something very special – my first published articles! Two articles that I’ve written as a contributing writer for People over Product magazine have now been published in the April edition of the sustainable fashion magazine.

If you would like to read my articles, as well as plenty of other fabulous articles on important ethical fashion issues, you can check out the magazine here.

E. EDUCATING

I’ve been a lover of space since I was very young and after getting a telescope for Christmas a couple of years ago I’ve become even more obsessed with the stars.

This past week I’ve spent many nights (when the pesky clouds haven’t been in the way!) staring up at the stars, constellation spotting and attempting to photograph far-off galaxies. The more I learn about our universe the more it amazes me!

P. PLAYING

I’ve been rewatching The Fall, a crime show following the life of a serial killer, depicted by Jamie Dornan, and the life of a detective, Gillian Anderson. It’s a superb show, that truly keeps you on the edge of your seat, and since I introduced my mom and sister to it last week we’ve been utterly hooked. We’ve already watched two series in the space of a week!

I’d definitely make sure to check the trigger warnings before delving in to this one, as it can be pretty heavy.

O. OBSESSING OVER

I’m a massive fan of Conan Gray and I am absolutely obsessing over his new album: Found Heaven. Its 80s inspired synth-pop sound feels so nostalgic, and I love the lyrics. My current favourites are Alley Rose, Found Heaven and Boys and Girls.

R. RECOMMENDING

After many months of it being out of stock I’ve finally got my hands on my trusty Revolution SPF moisturiser.

Designed for dry to normal skin it is wonderfully hydrating, has a very subtle skin, and, most importantly, protects with SPF 30.

T. TREATING MYSELF TO

This week I had a classic dessert: jelly and ice cream! What a nostalgic little treat.

Hartley’s strawberry jelly and classic vanilla ice cream (bonus points for some chocolate sprinkled on top!) simply never misses.

Love Chloe x
