Combining Classic With Culture

Claddagh ring – a gift from my parents for graduating university // Classic ring – Mejuri // Dainty gold bracelet – Mejuri

Jewellery is such a personal statement, and the pieces and colours that you select often share quite a lot about you. Whether you opt for a dainty pendant or a chunky chain, often hints at who you are and what you stand for. With that in mind I’ve been very carefully selecting and investing in pieces that not only make me feel good, but also showcase a little bit of who I am as well. I love the idea of investing in pieces that will one day become heirloom pieces, and I hope that the jewellery in this post will become exactly that; classic, timeless and something I reach for everyday.

The combination of classic gold jewellery with the more personal claddagh ring, representing my Irish culture, is something that I particularly love. The chance to share this part of myself and my upbringing through jewellery is so lovely, and I adore how the Mejuri pieces compliment it so well. The classic gold vermeil stacker ring pairs so well with other jewellery, even stacked on the same finger, and I love how it doesn’t detract from the more intricate claddagh ring.

For a bracelet I opted for the 14K gold baby curb chain bracelet, which is oh so delicate and subtle; as someone who is very petite with dainty wrists I often struggle to find bracelets that fit without slipping off my hand, but this one fits perfectly. I got the 6 inch size bracelet, which fits like a dream, and I’d definitely recommend if you often struggle to find bracelets too. I also love that Mejuri works with recycled gold, so that every piece is ethically made using gold scraps or recycled jewellery. I have a few cherished pearl pieces from Mejuri in my collection already, that I typically reserve for more dressed up occasions, and I can’t wait to add more gold pieces to wear on an everyday basis.
