My Favourite Facial SPF

ARK Skincare SPF30 Primer // Revolution Skincare SPF15 Moisture Cream

Although the happenings of 2020 have meant that this summer is most definitely a strange one, we are currently in the midst of July nevertheless, and this time of year means a heightened need for SPF. I try and use SPF as a part of my daily skincare routine all throughout the year anyway, as UV rays don’t just exist when it’s hot, but at this time of the year it’s not just a suggestion, it’s a necessity.

I’ve been using two different SPF moisturisers in my routine, an SPF30 primer from ARK Skincare, and an SPF15 moisturiser from Revolution Skincare. I switch between the two when choosing the components of my morning skincare routine, and apply to my skin straight after cleansing my face.

My sister and I are both massive fans of ARK Skincare, it makes up 90% of Sophie’s skincare routine, and the SPF30 Primer is no exception. The majority of ARK’s skincare is targeted at a certain age group, with both me and my sister using the products targeted specifically at those in their teens and 20s, but this product works well for everyone who loves ARK.

I find my dry skin flares up in summer, particularly around the edge of my face, but the smooth formula applies perfectly, and also works as a great base for makeup. Out of the two I’d probably recommend using this one under a full face of makeup as it is slightly lighter, and is specifically designed to be a primer, whereas the Revolution one is more of a daily moisturising cream.

Revolution is my most used skincare brand; I also love their Rose and Chamomile Serum and Quinoa Night Peel, and this moisturising cream is no exception. There is currently a 3 for 2 sale on at Revolution, so why not treat yourself to all three?

I love the hydration boost I get from the Revolution Skincare SPF15 moisturiser; as this version is specifically formulated for normal to dry skin it is ultra moisturising, and it has helped the dry skin on my face immensely. If your skin is more oily they also have a version for normal to oily skin here.

Although it looks quite thick coming out of the pot it sinks into the skin very quickly and acts great as a base under makeup; it also comes in an SPF30 version as well; shop here for normal to dry skin, and here for normal to oily skin. This has such a lovely, summery scent to it, which immediately transports me to a beach on the Med, and if I was going abroad this summer I’d definitely invest in the SPF30 version for an even stronger layer of protection.
