This Face Mask Friday is a little bit different to usual, as it actually features a mask made by yours truly, which I got the chance to make at a LUSH event. I was very kindly invited along to a LUSH party event last weekend, where we all got to work together to create a batch of the Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask, as well as hearing all about what you can get up to at LUSH’s very pampering parties.
Believe it or not, I’ve never tried a LUSH face mask before, so I though, what better way to first test them out, than with one I’ve made myself. I’m not used to using such natural face masks, and this one is full of fabulously natural ingredients, such as natural oils and a whole load of blueberries, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The main change that I had to get used to was that this is so fresh that it has to be kept in the fridge!
Brand: LUSH
Price: £9.00
Where can you buy it? LUSH in-store and online
I’d never used a face mask quite like this before; the natural mix meant that it was equal parts smooth and crumbly (sort of like cookie dough!) and at first I found this quite a bother applying it to my face. However, after heating it up with my fingertips and rubbing it together it applied much more easily, and I loved how much of my face I could cover, without using much product. The lovely ladies at LUSH said that I could get five uses out of one pot, which is fabulous!
I loved how fun and blue this mask looked on the skin, even if my mom did call me a Smurf, and there was something about it that felt just so natural and simple. I left the mask on for just under fifteen minutes, which is the perfect time frame for me, and it was just long enough to properly sit back and relax. The one drawback of this mask was the fact that I had to wash it off, which I always find a little more stressful than simply removing it, like a sheet mask, but it came off quite easily.
The first thing I thought when I removed this mask was ‘oh my God, where have my pores gone?!’. This mask left the pores across my cheeks almost invisible, which I found absolutely insane, and I loved how soft and moisturised my skin felt. With only three weeks to use up the rest of the pot of face mask I’ll definitely be reapplying soon, and I can’t wait to see the long term effects on my skin.
Would I re-use this mask?
I will definitely be re-using this mask (I have the rest of the pot to get through!) and I can’t wait to try out some of the other masks in the LUSH Fresh Face Mask range. If you have any recommendations for other LUSH face masks, please let me know!

How amazing that you got to create your own face mask! I’ve always liked the sound of this one in particular but your review pretty much has me sold, especially regarding the pores, how amazing is that?! I’ll have to remember to pick one up the next time I pop in <3
