As a hopeless romantic it will come as no surprise that Valentine’s Day is one of my favourite days of the year. The fact that it is a whole day dedicated to romance and love makes me incredibly happy, plus it’s an excuse to wear a pretty, pink outfit! I decided to share some of my favourite Valentine’s Day outfits created using pieces from my wardrobe, which is practically a Valentine’s Day dream closet. As some of these pieces are not current I will link some very similar alternatives to make them all shoppable, simply click on the links below to take you to the item. There will also be a YouTube video including all of these looks coming on Friday!
If you’re in need of any inspiration for Valentine’s Day dates why not check out my recent post with a date idea for every weekend in February.
WHIMSICAL PRINCESS OF LOVE
This outfit is basically everything I love to wear. Pink faux fur coat? Check. Pink tulle skirt? Check. Pink velvet heels? Check. In writing, this outfit may seem like pink overload; believe it or not the idea of a pink top, skirt, coat and shoes sounds like a little too much, even for me, but in person I love this outfit.
There’s something about the combination of the silky fabric of the top compared with the ever so slightly sheer tulle skirt that makes this outfit feel truly regal. This would make a perfect outfit for a little more dressed up venue, where a longer skirt wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb, and the addition of the velvet heels adds an even more luxury feel to the outfit.
PINK SATIN DREAM
Satin midi skirts are some of my favourite things to wear; they are so versatile and can be dressed up or down to match any aesthetic. By far my favourite one I own is this pink satin pleated skirt, which was actually under £10 from eBay, and it is perfect for a whimsical and classy Valentine’s Day outfit.
I paired this midi skirt with a delicate white lace top, which laces up at the back. This bow ribbon detail up the back is such a girly detail, which makes this one of my favourite tops for spring (I know I’m jumping the gun a little bit there with all the cold weather we’ve been having, but a girl can dream).
These boots are possibly my most worn shoes of the season, I even wrote a whole post about them the other day (see it here). The neutral colour of the boots pairs perfectly with the pink and white colours of the outfit. I then popped my favourite coat of the moment on top, my pink faux fur number, which just completes the outfit.
BOUQUET OF FLOWERS
One of the most classic gifts on Valentine’s Day is a bouquet of flowers, and that is what inspired this look. This gorgeous tiered skirt, that falls slightly lower at the back than at the front (also see me wearing it here) is so elegant and I think the combination of the thicker material and the delicate pleats makes this skirt look so high end, when in fact it was purchased on a budget.
I combined this very pretty skirt, which I actually saw in store in a New Look outlet store recently but is no longer available online, with a ruffle sleeve pink knitted top. I carried this pink colour through into my classic pink Ted Baker bag, which adds a more high end touch to the outfit. I also added my brand new cream kitten heels as they are not only incredibly classy, I’m getting high fashion vibes, but they’re also incredibly comfortable. It’s a win, win situation.
This classy Valentine’s Day outfit, would also make a perfect ensemble for a springtime wedding, and I love the cream and ivory tones within it.
I’ve tried out a new layout with this blog post (it’s an incredibly wide screen layout) and I’d love to hear your feedback on it!
