How To Get Yourself Inspired For The New Year

New Year is a perfect time for a fresh start, but sometimes we need a little encouragement to help ourselves set new goals and get inspired. The new year is a fabulous way to realign yourself with what you really want; to sort out what you want from your life and how you’re going to get it.

MAKE A MOOD BOARD

I am a big fan of making mood boards to lay out my ideas and goals in a very clear and visual way. It helps me easily understand what I’m aiming for, and help myself to get there. I’ve got a full post going up tomorrow on my very own mood board for 2019, which I can’t wait to share with you all.

START A BULLET JOURNAL

I started a bullet journal this time last year, and unfortunately got out of the habit of using it around May time. Up until then it was incredibly helpful, particularly with tracking my mental health and how often I was experiencing bad days, which was particularly helpful when sharing it with my therapist at the time. I’m going to try and get back into the swing of using a bullet journal as we move into 2019 as I think they are so useful, and it’s so great how much you can personalise it to suit your needs, goals and plans. Do any of you have a bullet journal?

HAVE A CLEAR OUT

I mean this in a physical and metaphorical sense. Is your room overbearingly cluttered or messy? Why not sort through your belongings, tidy up a little and send some items off to local charity shops. Is there pieces in your wardrobe that no longer suit your style? Why not give them to friends who may wear them, or alternatively, pass them on to charity shops. Are there people in your life that hinder your development and don’t add anything to your happiness? It may seem a little extreme, but you’ll feel so much better once those toxic, draining people are out of your life. Clearing out your life is just as important as clearing out your room, don’t forget to declutter your mind every once in a while.

Hopefully a mixture of all these things will lead to a mindful and inspired start to 2019 for all of you, and for me. What is your top tip to getting inspiration as we move into the new year?
