Blogmas Day Fourteen – The Perfect Christmas Dress

Each year I search high and low for my perfect Christmas dress; I want to feel glamorous and beautiful during the holiday season and finding the right dress is a big part of that. Normally I opt for a red one but I thought I’d venture out a little this year and also try out a beautiful gold gown. All of these dresses would be perfect for Christmas balls, nights out, festive parties and other events over the holiday season. Hopefully this post will either help you find your perfect Christmas dress, or give you some inspiration to do some shopping before the big day.

LOOK ONE

This is one of the beautiful dresses I’ve ever owned and I’m completely in love. The delicate gold details and sweetheart neckline remind me of an actual princess gown, and who wouldn’t want to feel like royalty at Christmas? I managed to get this dress in petite so it falls perfectly around the end of my heels, which is so rare for me to find in a dress. The ornate gold embroidery and lace makes this dress look so much more high end than it is, which adds a touch of luxury to your Christmas look.

These incredibly cute gold sparkly Minnie Mouse heels are the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. Primark are doing a full range of Minnie Mouse themed heels and, honestly, I’m living for it. I’ve been a massive Disney fan ever since I was little, I even wanted to work there as a real life Disney princess for a year when I was planning what to do after leaving school, if I hadn’t gone to college, and I just can’t resist Disney themed accessories. When I saw these on Primark’s Twitter I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and I snapped them up the minute they came into stores. I’ve found some similar gold sparkly heels for you to shop below, as Primark is yet to have an online store (maybe they’ll finally listen to us in 2019 and grant our Christmas wish!).

LOOK TWO

This red tulle gown was my Christmas dress last year, but I’ve found some similar dresses for you to shop down below; I’ve also linked the exact dress which is being sold on eBay so if you’re a size 8, granted that it’s still in stock, you can shop the same dress. Tulle adds such a feminine elegance to a dress and instantly makes you look ready for any party; I love the fluffed up, bouncy nature of tulle and it always reminds me of fairy dresses.

Red is the colour of the Christmas season, making it the perfect colour for a Christmas dress. I’ve had a red dress for the last few years and it always puts me in the festive spirit. They look great paired with red lipstick and red nail varnish, which are great additions to a festive party look and can be paired with a wide variety of coloured shoes. I typically go for silver but red also looks pretty paired with gold, white and even black.

I paired this dress with silver stilettos, which I had in my collection from prom, and I’ve linked some alternatives down below. Low heeled stilettos remind me of 1930s dancing shoes, and with these shoes on you’re fit for the party, where you can twirl in your pretty dress and dance all night.

LOOK THREE

I don’t typically go for tight, body hugging dresses but I made an exception for this black floral one from New Look. The slightly off the shoulder neckline and split wrap detail makes it a very sexy, yet elegant, dress; it makes me feel incredibly womanly, as it accentuates my curves whilst not giving off a Kardashian-esque vibe.

For this look I added a simple pair of black strappy heels, which tie in with the black of the dress and don’t detract from the gorgeously patterned dress. Black shoes and a black handbag make perfect addition to this outfit as you want to go for plainer accessories, as the dress is so busy. I wear my black faux fur jacket so much at this time of year and I’d definitely throw it on over this outfit to match the black and also to keep myself warm on those cold December nights.
