Most ladies bring a handbag wherever they go, but it can be hard to find one for every occasion. Sometimes a smaller bag with an over the shoulder strap is perfect, other times a bigger tote bag is more appropriate. I’ve collected together some of my favourite bags on the market right now, and they’re all under £50!
Small and compact bags
I use small shoulder bags an awful lot as wherever I go, even if it’s literally round the block, I have to take my epi-pen with me so I need a small, easy to carry bag that I can just sling over my shoulder and leave the house with. This first gorgeous bag from River Island incorporates the tassel, fringe trend that is coming into the shops this Spring and combines it with a rather summery woven material. This is such a chic, detailed bag that will look great paired with white summer dresses or white trousers and a light coloured top. This gorgeous pink floral bag is so pretty and perfect for Spring, with its structure it is very current and on trend, I especially love the black edging detail. This last bag is one I had my eye on from Accessorize with 3D floral details and a beautiful nude colour palette; this is the perfect addition to any neutral Spring outfit!
Perfect everyday bags
These bags are the size and shape of bag that I reach for to be my everyday handbag. They’re big enough to hold the basics, like your phone, makeup bag, an umbrella and small perfume whilst not feeling too big, clunky or heavy. This first one from New Look is at the top of my wishlist as it looks classy, is very simplistic and is a neutral colour to go with a multitude of different Spring outfits. The second, a blue bucket bag from Topshop, is the perfect pastel to wear in Spring. The small ring detail evokes Chloe-esque vibes, similar to that on the Chloe Nile Bag, which is very popular currently so this bag is right on trend. This final bag is a new addition to my wardrobe which I won at a recent blogging event with Accessorize and it is honestly the perfect Spring bag; it has floral details, incorporates the bright colour trend and also looks classy.
‘Carry your life around in them’ bags
These are the kind of bags that every girl needs, the classic Mary Poppins bag, which can fit half your life in it. No one would really be surprised if you brought a fully grown horse out of there, that’s how big it is. These bags are perfect for a day trip, to bring to the beach, or if you’re just one of those people who likes to bring everything with them. This pink and straw striped one is gorgeous and it’s definitely on my wishlist for summer; this just reminds me of the beach! The second pink one from New Look via ASOS is the perfect all day bag with a front pocket to hold essentials like your phone and purse. It’s a great colour for Spring and it the perfect size to carry on your shoulder. This last one with the gorgeous rose gold embellished words looks perfect for summer as it evokes a tropical vibe – it’s right on trend with the rose gold details!
‘I’m cool and hipster’ (or at least I’m trying to be) backpacks
For ages I thought backpacks were made just for those sporty, DofE type people or for cool, hipster girls who go round with it nonchalantly hanging off one shoulder. How could I, a girl who refuses to wear anything close to sporty or cool, wear a backpack? But these gorgeous (and girly!) backpacks definitely changed my mind. This gorgeous duck egg blue backpack is clearly a colour trend for Spring. The second mink backpack with rose gold details from New Look is my dream backpack, it combines my two favourite colours and is the perfect size. Finally, this clean white bag with a ring detail is great as it’ll match with any outfit due to its neutral colour.
