The 1st of January 2018 falls on a Monday, a day perfect for starting afresh on, so this year can be a wonderful fresh slate. New beginnings are so important for self improvement and reevaluating what is still relevant and positive in your life, and I’m going to discuss why, and how, you can start living a fresh, better life this new year.
Leave the negative people behind
This may seem like an obvious one but it can be a lot easier said than done. Cutting ties with people who have been in your life, even if they’ve brought round a negative attitude, can be hard because it’s very easy to try and remember the good times and not admit that things have turned sour. Having a good hard look at your friendships is a good way to start 2018. Do you have any friends that bring more anxiety than they do happiness? Do you find yourself desperately clinging to old memories because you’re struggling to make new ones? If you answered yes then it might be time to think about who you should, and should not, be friends with. Making sure that you are comfortable with your friends is a great way to happiness so this is a great step to a better 2018.
Work on yourself
Not all of your problems are caused by other people, let’s be real, so it’s important to take a good hard look at yourself too. We can let ourselves get deep down into a rut and pick up bad habits that begin to define our personality, when in reality they’re not a true representation of us. It’s time to replace those bad habits with good traits!
You can read the rest of my tips to starting anew in my latest YouTube video (my first video of the new year!) and if you’re not subscribed to my channel I’d love for you to have a look. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to create a lot more content here and over on my channel so make sure that you’re up to date.
Have a happy New Year!
