Why I’m Making Travel This Year’s Goal

When thinking about what I wanted to get out of 2020 the main reoccurring theme was always going to be travel. For as long as I can remember I have had wanderlust coursing through my veins, and now that I’m old enough (and wise, maybe…) enough to travel alone, and I have money to book some trips, I can’t wait to get out and explore the world in 2020. Life is far too short to stay in one place your entire life; there is so much of the world to see, and so many people to meet, so if you can afford to, I recommend making travel your new year goal too.

In my opinion, there is no better way to learn about the world around you, different cultures and different people, than travelling. There’s something about exploring a new place, trying new food and exposing yourself to different lifestyles that genuinely helps you develop as a person, and learn not only more about the world, but also about yourself.

It sounds strange to say, but I sometimes feel more myself whilst walking around strange new streets, than I’ve ever done walking my home town, and I love the inspiration that always seems to hit me when exploring a new place. I can’t wait to look back at the end of this year and think about all of the interesting things I saw and the amazing places I visited, so fingers crossed I can make all of these travel plans a reality.

So far I’ve got Paris (I’m heading there this week!), Barcelona, Marrakech, Amsterdam and Lisbon on my travel wishlist for the year ahead, and I am so excited about visiting a new continent, as I’ve never been to Africa before. If any of you have any recommendations for any of these locations please comment them down below or dm me over on Instagram or Twitter, I’d love to hear them!
