There are so many new autumnal trends coming in this season and I can’t wait to start experimenting with them and styling them up for different daytime and nighttime looks. I’m going to explore some of the most popular trends and styles I’ve seen coming on to the high street recently and pick out some pieces that have caught my eye (and that you may just see in my wardrobe over the coming months…). To have a look at the pieces I’ve picked out just click on them and you’ll be taken straight to the web page.
Animal Print
A trend that has appeared seemingly out of nowhere and has completely catapulted into popularity all of a sudden is animal print; whether that’s a zebra print bag or a leopard print silk shirt, animal prints are back in in a massive way. When I first saw animal prints becoming more and more stylish I honestly went into a bit of a panic, for someone who dresses in a wardrobe that’s mostly neutrals and pink flouncy dresses the idea of wearing a leopard print outfit made me feel like a Cheetah girl fraud than a cool Instagram girl. I’m slowly coming to terms with this trend and I’m actually quite excited to integrate it into my wardrobe in a girly, chic way, and hopefully dodging that Cheetah girl look!
I’ve seen leopard print slingbacks, similar to these ones, floating around on Twitter for a couple of weeks now and I’m so tempted by them every time I see them; these would look great paired with a black dress, a denim skirt or even jeans and they’re a perfect way to add a splash of the trend without going too overboard. Culotte style jumpsuits are always stylish and I actually really like this leopard print one; it is bold enough to tie in with the trend but is classy and muted enough to not seem too out of place with my style. I would add some black low block heels or slingbacks to this look to transform it into an evening outfit and this would be a great outfit if you’re heading out for a casual night out or getting some drinks with your girls. These snake print culottes would look fabulous paired with a silk shirt, like this one, or with a camisole top for warmer nights. I would then add some nude coloured heels to the look to not go too overboard with the patterns or colour and create a sophisticated and elegant look. This leopard print denim co-ord from Topshop incorporates another major trend, coloured denim, which I’m going to come on to later in this post. The matching denim set creates a fabulous ready made outfit, all you need to do is add a plain t-shirt or blouse and some flats and you’re ready to go! Finally, this gorgeous leopard print detail bag is a stunning addition to any outfit and is a great way to introduce this trend into your wardrobe. I love the gold touches and I think this bag looks so much more expensive than it is.
Coloured Denim Co-Ord Sets
Ever since Topshop brought out those co-ord sets over summer this trend has sky rocketed, you know the ones, that everyone had their eye on but that cost so much you’d have to either compromise and get only one half of the set or just give up and sell an organ to get a matching pair; I’d definitely say the pink one is worth a kidney or two… Many more shops have brought out similar styles and coloured denim is definitely a trend that’s sticking around.
Of course the colour I’m most drawn to is this gorgeous blush pink colour, in fact I’m surprised that this isn’t in my wardrobe already! This would look great paired with all sorts of neutral tops and neutral coloured mules, or with a roll neck, tights and Chelsea boots as the days get a little colder. White is always in style and this would actually look great paired with an animal print top or animal print accessories, to tie in with another massive trend, as it wouldn’t take away from the bold print. Next up is this red distressed co-ord set which is subtly sexy whilst also being so classy and versatile, if you have a more preppy style this would look great with a statement tee, but I’d probably be more inclined to style it up with a nude or polka dot roll neck and little black Chelsea boots. I thought I’d include another style of co-ord, a slight variation from the denim ones, which would also work as an amazing piece in autumn. This rust coloured corduroy co-ord set is the perfect colour for your autumn wardrobe and creates such a vintage, edgy style that could be transformed into so many different looks and styles. Corduroy skirts are some of my favourite things to wear all autumn and I can definitely assure you that the price per wear for this co-ord would be next to nothing! All of these co-ords would also work great as individual pieces in their own right making them great value for money and brilliant investment pieces.
Tweed
Tweed is such a classic and fabulous autumn trend and I’m so glad that it is back in style this year. Tweed is synonymous with so many couture designer brands, such as Chanel, which marks it out instantly as a premium looking material guaranteed to make you look stylish and chic.
I recently purchased this gorgeous tweed suit from Romwe, which was incredibly inexpensive for how high end and classy it looks! I can’t wait to style this up and walk around feeling like a modern day Chanel flouncing my way around Birmingham; a girl can dream. I’m planning on styling this up with low heels, potentially Chanel inspired ones, and a black and white pussybow blouse for a girly, classy look. This ruffled tweed skirt from H&M is a perfect addition to your autumn wardrobe as it is a mixture of perfect autumn tones and would look great paired with many different coloured roll necks; plus it’s down to just £15! I think I’ve fallen in love with this fabulously girly pink tweed matching set with button details, I need it in my wardrobe immediately. Both of these pieces are equally gorgeous in their own right and would add a perfect dash of Scream Queens style glamour to your autumnal wardrobe. Finally, this beautiful tweed jacket from Forever 21 is made up of so many tones and colours it really caught my eye. Tweed jackets look great on top of dresses but also layered with tops, roll necks and jumpers with jeans for a more casual look.

I think I’m going to try and experiment with a little animal print to see if I like it! xx
Really excited to try styling tweed as well! There were so many classic Chanel looks revamped, that I made a whole post about them for last year’s cruise collection. Also, I’m really excited to try out mixing patterns, as autumn is known for layering.

Tweed is just so glamorous looking it’s great to style up, especially if you’re going for that chic, classy look. I’ll have to check out your post! xx
Animal print is definitely everywhere right now, and I own NOTHING in it! I used to have the best leopard print pencil skirt and I threw it out, thinking it was out of style. I need to start doing what my mom does… hang on to things, they’ll always come back into style! I love how fashion works that way. 🙂

I did the exact same thing! I had a leopard print skirt and I gave it to a charity shop literally four or five months ago, so now I’m gutted. I hadn’t worn it in years and I really didn’t predict animal print’s dramatic return! xx
