Inspiration for the Week: Vol. 11

It’s been a little while since I shared my weekly inspiration, due to a short blogging break whilst I finished my university degree. I’ve now completed my graduate collection; a four piece lingerie collection entitled ‘The Reclamation of Femininity’ featuring vintage style silhouettes, a soft painted print and lots of decadent pearl and feather detailings. I’m going to write a post sharing all of the details with you all shortly, don’t worry!

Now that I’ve got a lovely long summer ahead of me, which I’ve decided to take off from work to fully recover from the stress of the past few months, I am in need of some inspiration, and a little refresh of my goals and dreams. Spring and summer are my favourite time of the year, and now that the weather is starting to slightly warm up, I can’t wait to get out and explore. This summery and whimsical mood is definitely evident in the pictures I’ve selected this week, and I love each and every single one.

I am so desperate to get to the beach, and feel the cool rush of the sea between my toes. Jasmine Curtis, or Jasmine Jolanta as she is also known as, is a constant source of inspiration to me; her way of slow living, prioritising self-care and caring for herself and the world around her is so inspiring to me, and I always refer to her TikTok if I’m in need of a quick burst of motivation. This image, with the rippling tide, beautiful flowers, and time spent in bikinis looks so inviting, and I’m really hoping I get to go to the seaside this summer.

After working with luxurious silks and decadent pearls over the last few months, this image really spoke to me. The natural pearls paired with the soft pink shade is glorious, and this will definitely be on a moodboard for future collections, as it perfectly encapsulates the delicate feminine aesthetic.

After my trip to the botanical gardens at the weekend I’ve had greenhouses on the brain, and this picture sums it up perfectly. The tropical plants and flowers poking through the steamed up hot houses perfectly depicts the experience of strolling through luscious botanical gardens that are in bloom, and it makes me want to go and spend another weekend visiting a different set of gardens.

There’s something about this wonderfully over-sized hat that I love. It screams luxury resort line, and looks stunned paired with the faded grey-green, that mirrors the colour of the British sea – on a good day!

I attended my cousin Mark’s beautiful wedding a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve got another of my cousin’s weddings later this summer, so beautiful nuptials are definitely on my mind. This stunning image from a wedding on the Amalfi Coast is beyond beautiful, and I just want to crawl inside it and spend a day surrounded by stunning floral arrangements, with the Mediterranean sea glistening in the background.

WHAT I’M READING…

I strolled over to a couple of charity book shops on the other side of Victoria Park in Leicester at the end of last week, situated on Queens Road, which is a delightful part of the city. Set along a high street full of plenty of Mediterranean cafes, secondhand record stores and independent coffee shops, it’s definitely worth a walk. I visited both the Loros Bookshop and Age UK’s charity bookstore, which are both overflowing with fiction and non-fiction books. I picked up a few classics, such as Emma by Jane Austen and Orlando by Virginia Woolf, as well as few more contemporary titles. Over the weekend I’ve been reading Notes on a Scandal by Zoë Heller, which I honestly couldn’t put down.

WHAT I’M WATCHING…

At the end of last week my mom and I binge-watched the new Netflix documentary on the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey. I was honestly gob-smacked by what I was watching, and was beyond disgusted with the events that played out throughout the documentary. It always shocks me the lengths that humans can be led due to indoctrination, and this documentary was no different. I wouldn’t recommend watching if you have any history of sexual abuse or religious trauma, as it could be very triggering, and no details were spared in the victim’s recounts.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…

I’m seeing Harry Styles this week (honestly grinning just writing that!) and so I’ve naturally had his new album, as well as lots of my old favourites, on repeat this week; the top five would have to be ‘Little Freak’, ‘Music For a Sushi Restaurant’, ‘Canyon Moon’, ‘Carolina’ and ‘Sunflower, Vol. 6’. I’m in love with Harry’s House!

Love Chloe x
