Who you surround yourself with helps to build who you are as a person, and the same can be said for who you add to your online community. As social media takes up such a large part of our lives it’s important to make sure that your time spent online is filled with as much positivity, creativity and inspiration as possible, which is why I am so picky about what creators I do and don’t follow.
From creators focused on sourcing vintage fashion, to wholesome videos on journalling, I try and fill my explore pages with content that makes me smile, hooks me in with fashion history, and inspires me to get off my phone and do something exciting.
ELLIOT DUPREY
TikTok: @elliot_duprey
Elliot’s account is a treasure trove of vintage designer menswear, all hand-sourced by Elliot himself. He has found iconic luxury items in his home city of Chicago, as well as online through sites such as eBay and TheRealReal, and his passion for vintage designer fashion truly shines through in every video he creates.
Although his account solely focuses on menswear, which is clearly not an area of fashion that I regularly buy into, I am always drawn in by how he explains the history of the pieces and talks through the styling. My all-time-favourite piece of his is a pair of accordion pleated Alexander McQueen trousers; they are simply to die for!
JASMINE JOLANTA
TikTok: @jasmine.jolanta
Jasmine has been somewhat of a ‘comfort creator’ of mine for a couple of years now, as her feed is full of mindful, wholesome content, set to the gorgeous background of Aus’s Gold Coast.
From wellness videos of sunrise yoga sessions and ocean dips, to ultra girly fashion content, Jasmine’s content always feels like a much-needed escape from the fast-paced TikTok landscape. That’s definitely a common theme with my favourite creators; they take me out of my hectic schedule and transport me to somewhere calmer and sunkissed.
CHEY
TikTok: @livebrave2
Chey shares her beautiful junk journal on TikTok in chatty videos, talking through her scrapbooking process. As someone who loves to record my life in a similar way I love stopping the constant scrolling and watching a journal spread come together, full of happy photos of Chey’s life, fun stickers, postcards and other ephemera.
Her bright smile and chattiness makes you feel as if you’re on FaceTime with her, making it perfect to pop on and journal alongside her.
ROCCO FRATTASIO
TikTok: @roccofrattasio
Rocco has a way of writing poetry that makes you stop, listen, and sometimes simply cry. It feels so deeply human. It’s been so long since I’ve come across a writer that has me truly lost for words, but this writing did exactly that.
With winding metaphors that cover the spoken poetry, and stories of love and loss that draw you in, he has a way with words that is rarely seen. Every time he graces my page I always take the time to pause and listen to his words, as they transport me away to his beautiful imagined world.
LINDY GOODSON
TikTok: @the_real_lin_shady
I simply love when fashion content is pure unadulterated fun, and Lindy absolutely fits the bill. Queen of the grand-millennial, ultra-feminine style, I’ve watched her styling videos for years. Then, earlier this year, she became a true TikTok icon when she created the ‘Polo Bear’ trend, recreating outfits of the ever-so stylish Ralph Lauren Polo Bears. Watching these videos come together, with pieces from her vast closet, was so much fun (and so much more entertaining than just another fashion haul).
She’s a go-to when I need classic, girly style inspiration – bonus points if I also want to look like an undercover Ralph Lauren Bear!
