Finding new ethical brands is one of the things that brings me the most joy, as it really makes me feel so bright to see the fashion landscape changing and shifting towards a more sustainable dynamic. I wanted to highlight three brands in particular that I’m excited about, and share them with you. I’m yet to shop from any of these brands, but they’re ones that I’ve got my eye on, and I’m looking to purchase from them in the coming months, as well as watching them flourish.
Ell’s Wardrobe
Shop it here.
I went to college with Ellie, where I remember her creating an ethical (and inspiring!) denim collection, and it’s been so lovely to see her grow and eventually create Ell’s Wardrobe, her new slow fashion business. The online store sells a collection of second-hand and upcycled pieces, all hand-selected by Ellie, particularly perfect if you have a very chic, monochrome aesthetic. The website also acts as place for you to upload, sell and swap your own items. Think a more personal version of Depop!
Allina Liu
Shop it here.
The Allina Liu collection is, in one word, stunning. I first spotted the 100% cotton ‘Chai Dress’ a few months ago, and immediately fell in love; since seeing the rest of the collection I am even more enthralled with these delicate pleated designs. I can already see myself in springtime dancing around in one of Allina Liu‘s dresses or matching sets, and how gorgeous is that pistachio green satin?
Meadows
Shop it here.
We know by now that floral fabrics are something I am immediately drawn to, and I love the florals in the aptly named Meadows brand’s repertoire. Creating my own quilted jacket is on my bucket list this year, and I was so inspired by the ruffled-edge pieces in the Meadows collection, which was what originally led me to this brand. Their pieces are all created in boutique and sustainable factories in China, which promote ethical production and living standards, making them even more wishlist-worthy!
