The Dresses I’m Wearing This Spring

The moment the sun comes out my head is immediately filled with all of the dresses I’m suddenly able to wear. I add to my dress collection year after year with more colourful, feminine pieces, and I can’t wait to see what I pick up over the next few months. The latest item added to my collection has been this pastel patchwork print dress, that I wore on Easter Sunday, that pairs perfectly with both knee high boots, like I’ve styled it up here, and espadrilles as well.

With a new outlook on building my wardrobe, the main focus when making purchases now has to be selecting timeless, classic pieces that I know I will be wearing time and time again for years to come. I feel confident enough in my own personal style now to spend a little more on pieces that I know I will love for a long time ahead, and work on creating a wardrobe with endless styling opportunities that’s full of pieces that compliment each other. For me, that means light coloured, grand-millennial inspired pieces with plenty of florals, gingham and stripes.

Pastel coloured babydoll dresses are a spring staple for me, and this broderie anglaise pastel blue one is so darling. This would work well with mules and ballet flats for the spring, and espadrilles and sandals into the summertime. The loose silhouette and simple shape makes it such a versatile and comfortable piece, as there’s nothing worse than something tight and restrictive in the warm weather, and I could see this becoming a go-to on laidback spring days. Plus, Olive Clothing is a wonderfully sustainable company, which is becoming increasingly important to me when purchasing new pieces.

Another gorgeous Olive Clothing babydoll number, this classic cream piece with a statement frilled collar, would very easily become one of my most worn spring pieces. This classic shape also comes in black for a darker wardrobe, or potentially for autumnal outfits. Olive is a new-to-me brand, that I can’t wait to purchase from over the coming months, and I can guarantee you’ll be seeing a lot more of it here on chloececiliagoescouture.

Gorgeous chinoiserie inspired prints are a grand-millennial staple, that I love to incorporate into my wardrobe. These darling prints remind me of the willow China plates that used to adorn the walls of my Granny and Granda’s kitchen, and it immediately feels so warm and nostalgic. This linen-blend piece is a perfect feminine purchase, and at only £24.99 it’s a fabulously affordable choice too. Pair with blue or cream espadrilles for a summery look, perfect for picnics and holidays alike, or with white trainers for an everyday outfit.
