Red and white is such a chic combination, and it’s one I keep returning to time and time again. My latest red and white outfit is this summery ensemble featuring a red jersey ribbed crop top and white straight leg jeans; two pieces I wouldn’t ordinarily reach for, but that I think work together fabulously nonetheless. This top has been in my wardrobe for many years, but I was really struggling with ways to style it up that matched my current style. I’m not a fan of showing off my midriff, as it’s something I’m not particularly confident about, so I needed something extremely high waisted, and these jeans did a perfect job. Plus, this outfit is giving me major 70s vibes, and that’s an aesthetic I love for the summer months.
For shoes I opted for these embroidered strawberry espadrilles. These adorable Castaner wedges had been on my wishlist for so long, so when they came down in price significantly in the Net-a-Porter sale earlier this year I just knew I had to snap them up. The gorgeous fruit patterned embroidery is so perfect for summer, they also have them in a super cute lemon design, I’ve managed to find them heavily discounted here, and I am already dreaming of how they’ll look styled up with a simple summer dress once the weather warms up a bit. I definitely know I’ll be wearing these all summer long; even if it is just to walk to the garden and back!
Another new favourite find of mine is this pair of white wide leg Zara jeans. Zara is my go-to for affordable jeans that never look cheap, and I am so impressed by the material and cut of this pair. I have struggled for years to find white jeans that aren’t too see through, and are also flattering to my body shape, so you can imagine my glee when I stumbled upon these. I’ve featured this Marine Straight Leg style before, see it here, and I can confidently say they’ve become my new favourite style of Zara jeans. There’s something so leg-lengthening and flattering about the straight cut, and I love the button at the waist. For reference, I am only 5″2, but as you can see from the website these are meant to hit just above the ankle, so they’d be a great purchase for taller girls too.
I’ve linked below a few other strawberry patterned pieces that I think are simply gorgeous for spring and summer…
