Did My Fashion Predictions Come True?

I’m currently in the middle of creating this season’s Fashion Week Series, so far I’ve reported on the key trends at NYFW and LFW, but I thought I’d reflect on last season’s series and see whether any of my trend predictions for spring have started coming true. All of these trends listed down below are trends that I spotted across the different fashion weeks last autumn, meaning that they are more than likely going to be big this season. The high street has started placing its spring and summer pieces in store and some key trends are already starting to appear, so it’s time to see if I was correct. ANIMAL PRINT

You must seriously be living on another planet if you don’t think that animal print is a trend this season. If I’m honest it is a trend that is lasting a lot longer than I ever expected it to, for such a niche trend it has spanned over more than a year, and it is still big this spring.

DARK FLORALS

I’ve seen this trend appear more and more recently and, even though I’m not a fan of dark colours, I’m actually quite a fan of this trend. I know that this will make florals a lot more accessible and wearable for people who feel more comfortable in dark colours, or who wear a lot of black, and I’m happy that florals are back in style.

RED

Red is such a romantic colour and it’s a colour that I’ve got into a lot more recently, and that I endeavour to include in my wardrobe a lot more this season. I’ve actually spotted quite a few pairs of red trousers in shops recently, which seems to be the biggest inclusion of this trend.

SHEER FABRICS

Sheer fabrics, especially when they’re layered over other items of clothing are definitely back in style, and I love how delicate this can look. Sheer blouses, potentially with a cute bralette underneath, are also a fabulous way to wear this trend.
