We all know that I’m not one for bright colours, in fact wearing anything that isn’t pale pink or cream is a bit of a stretch for me. Alas, bright colours are definitely coming in this season so I gave myself the task of finding colourful clothes that fit my style and I would feel comfortable wearing. I’ve written this post in my new ‘what’s trending right now’ post style where I show you a piece, then how I’d style it. I hope you enjoy!
This blue occasion wear dress is a little brighter and more vibrant than I would usually go for but the delicate lace and fit gives it a Self Portrait vibe, for a fraction of the price. I’m in love with the high neck and dobby detail across the chest; it would look perfect for a wedding or special occasion paired with low block nude heels, these are great as they’re quite low meaning they’d be comfortable to wear all day. Combined with a subtle, nude clutch bag it allows the blue to pop. For jewellery I’d add simple rose gold studs, perhaps with a little diamanté like these ones from Claires.
Yellow trousers. Yes, you read that right, Chloe Grant has yellow trousers on her blog. I admit, I may not be brave enough to wear these, but I’m in love with the shape of them with the paperbag waist and wide leg. I would pair these with a subtle white or cream blouse, like this one, as it’s all a bit busy with the colourful trousers. To complete the outfit add white boots with a pointed toe, to elongate the leg and add height. I’m in love with this studded white bag from SheIn, which is an absolute bargain at only £11.14! For the finishing touch to this look a plaid coat is a must, this one is a conversation starter as it is embroidered with blue birds and is undeniably cute!
