Winter coats can be very expensive investments sometimes and it can be hard to afford just one coat a year, let alone buying multiple. I like to think that I’m pretty good at bargain hunting so I thought I’d help a girl out and find some high street/cheaper alternatives to more pricier coats. Hopefully there’s a coat for everyone’s budget here; to shop the pieces just click on the link.
This first grey woollen coat by Club Monaco is a very sophisticated style with a wide lapel and tailored finish. The light heather grey colour is very pretty and doesn’t look as harsh, in comparison to a darker grey. The second grey coat from New Look is almost identical to the Club Monaco one but comes in at £521 cheaper! It has incredibly similar design details as the Club Monaco one such as the low pockets and wide collar, but for a much, much lower price.
This first puffer coat from Burberry, via Net-A-Porter, is adorned with lots of gold details and a large gold buckle in the centre to tie it all together. With lots of lining and layers this is a perfect winter coat for keeping you very warm, even in the depths of winter. This very similar second coat is again from New Look; it doesn’t have as many gold details but the shape and general vibe of the coats are very much the same. Buying the cheaper option however would save you £700!
The teddy bear coat is becoming increasingly popular this year and these two are both not too out of budget. The first coat, from Urban Outfitters, looks incredibly cuddly yet still so chic, I’ve seen it on bloggers such as Sinead Crowe (link to her blog here) and I’ve honestly fallen in love with it. The second, cheaper option is from Pull&Bear and has the same fluffy texture with the addition of a hood; going for the cheaper option would save you £40.
Another rising trend this season is shaggy knit coats. This first one from Topshop is a more expensive way to get into this trend. It is an investment piece as it is made with pure wool, not a wool blend. This much, much cheaper option from Boohoo saves you £560 and creates the same effect as the more expensive option. I love the look of these incredibly fluffy coats and I feel like they could create some incredibly nice looks.
