As we transition into autumn it is a perfect time to mix up your wardrobe and add some new pieces. I have made a video on my outfit plans for autumn which will be going live this evening but I thought I’d create a blog post to go alongside it with some shoppable versions of the outfits I refer to.
My go to autumnal outfit is a jumper/top, skirt, black tights and Chelsea boots. It is practically my ‘uniform’ for autumn and I love switching up colours, patterns and different shapes to create new looks. The main colours I go for are warmer, earthy tones such as burnt orange, burgundy and camel, to mirror the colours of the season. This gorgeous paperbag waist skirt is absolutely stunning and I could pair this with a blouse to create a classy autumnal outfit. This second skirt is covered in beautiful rusty toned flowers which would look great paired with orange and brown tops. A scallop edged skirt is the perfect addition to anyone’s wardrobe and this would look really pretty paired with a simple top, tights and boots.
When it comes to tops I love wearing turtle neck/roll neck tops and jumpers. This stunning burgundy roll neck top is an autumn basic which I rely on for many outfits and at only £8 it’s an absolute bargain! This stunning Vera Moda roll neck striped top with frill detail is absolutely beautiful and I’ve added it to my wishlist; this would look lovely with a plain coloured skirt, tights and boots. I love the drape of this black top, which would fit into a wardrobe where the tones of our outfits are slowly getting deeper and darker.
After adding black tights, boots are the final addition to my basic autumnal outfit. Black Chelsea boots are my go to shoes for the winter and these ones are absolutely gorgeous; I love the look of suede boots and for only £38 you can afford to replace these necessities year after year. Another pair of necessary shoes have to be brown boots which go with warmer toned outfits; mine have a tassel just like these gorgeous ones (which are down from £55 to only £13!) and go with loads of autumnal outfits. My final pair of boots is a pair of cream boots which are absolutely stunning – I’ve been wearing these as a perfect transitional piece and I recommend that everyone picks up a pair!
Of course, the final addition to any autumnal outfit is a coat. This year I opted for a grey classic style coat similar to this one from New Look, which I find always have lovely winter coats (shop other New Look coats here). Other colours I think work really well for autumn/winter are camel and black; these two coats are absolutely gorgeous, I love the fur hood on the brown one. I still dream of owning a gorgeous pink coat and this one is now definitely on my designer wishlist!
Now is the perfect time to mix up your style so treat yourself (that’s the excuse I’m giving myself at least!)
