Vintage Inspired Look At The Dior Exhibition

The Dior exhibition that is currently being held at the Victoria and Albert Museum has quickly become one of the most infamous exhibitions that the V&A has ever hosted, and when I found out that I’d be able to visit I was impossibly excited. With an impressive collection of Dior’s vintage pieces displayed in beautiful installations, this exhibition is like Disneyland for fashion lovers and I don’t think I’ve ever said ‘oh my God’ more times than I did walking around here.

I left the exhibition feeling incredibly inspired and full of passion for fashion and designing, especially after seeing so many of Dior’s classic, feminine dresses. As of yesterday I am finally free of college, so I can’t wait to spend the summer creating my own pieces and wearing my very own vintage inspired dresses.

I knew that I wanted to feel like a princess when walking around surrounded by such beautiful garments, so my first choice was this gorgeous new dress that I ordered from SheIn. The fruity pastel coloured print is so perfect as we move into the summer months (even if it is currently very rainy, wintery weather here in England at the moment!) and I love the classic cut and bow detail waist; I even got asked if it was vintage!

This dress was honestly one of the most comfortable dresses I’ve ever owned, and I even managed to travel for seven hours in it. I was honestly expecting the back of the dress to get crumpled from being sat down for so long, but even after a lot of travelling it wasn’t even that bad, which I was very happy about.

I paired the dress with a pair of navy wedges, and popped on a navy cardigan, which you’ve seen me wear many times on my blog, and I loved how it drew out the blue tones in the dress. I’d love to see how this dress pairs with the orange espadrilles I featured in my post earlier this week, as I think this could create an even brighter, summery look. You’ll definitely be seeing this dress a lot over the coming months!
