Where can you buy it? Oh K! and ASOS
Another one from Oh K!, see last week’s Oh K! face mask review here, and I’ve gone for a three step face mask pamper session this time. They have quite a few different variations of this style of mask (see here and a similar style for a nose pore mask here) but I was drawn towards this charcoal sheet mask as I needed something to really unclog my pores, and charcoal is great for that.
I was looking for a luxurious pamper session when I reached for this mask and it definitely delivered; this three step mask was fabulous for hydrating and clearing my skin. I started off with the cleansing facial wash, which was incredibly foamy and bubbly, and after moisturising this on to my face and washing it off my face felt incredibly soft and cleansed.
I was very glad that this set came with a sheet mask, my favourite type of mask, and this charcoal one was incredibly easy to apply and only had to be left on for 10-20 minutes, which is perfect. I then hopped in the shower, because I also needed to wash my hair before heading off to Liverpool (which is where I’ll be whilst the time you read this post!), and I applied the serum afterwards. The serum left my skin feeling incredibly soft and I didn’t even need to apply moisturiser, which is incredible as I have dry skin. This mask set would be great if you’re travelling, or going for a weekend away, as it means you don’t have to bring a bottle of face wash.
The only drawback of this mask is the smell. I don’t know if I just had a dodgy mask, or if this was intentional, but as the mask did its magic on my face it slowly developed a very vulgar smell; it smelt like hair removal cream! When pampering myself with a face mask I don’t really want to come away smelling of Veet, so this does make me question whether I would reach for this mask. The serum however smelt heavenly!
Would I re-use this mask?
Everything about this mask ticked my boxes, except for the smell. I am very sensitive to dodgy aromas and I really wasn’t a fan of the hair removal-esque smell. If they corrected this I could see this being one of my favourite masks!
