I’ve got to be honest, I’ve always tried to stay clear of stick foundations; there’s something about rubbing this all over my skin day after day that just makes me feel gross. However, when I was completely broke and also completely out of foundation, isn’t that always the case, this was the cheapest foundation that Superdrug had to offer, so I decided to give it a go.
I’ve used Makeup Revolution products countless times in the past, and as they are infamous for their foundations, I was expecting quite a lot from this little stick. I picked mine up in the shade F2, which is for fair skin tones with a yellow undertone; I actually have a more neutral undertone, which is what F1 is supposed to offer, but I found that one slightly too pale for me. F2 is a perfect match for me though, and I love how it almost enhances my natural colour. With eighteen different shades offering different undertones for all sorts of skin tones you should be able to find your perfect shade.
My main concern with using a stick foundation was the worry that it would break me out. The concept of rubbing the same stick on my skin day after day, particularly if I was having a break out, made me think that it would just lead to more skin issues. However, I’m very thankful that this has not been the case, and I’ve actually loved using this foundation. This would also be a great foundation to travel with, as it means you’re not risking a liquid foundation leaking or breaking in your bag.
I typically dot this all over my face then blend in with my Bare Minerals Performance Foundation brush, which is a dense foundation brush. I’d definitely go for a denser brush, as although it is incredibly easy to blend, this will ensure a more flawless coverage.
After setting it in place this foundation will last all day, and has a finish that gets slightly more glowy throughout the day. It doesn’t make me look oily at all, but it definitely has a dewy finish, so if you’re all about that natural looking glow then this would be a perfect foundation for you to try.
