I’ve always loved cardigans; they’re so easy to just throw on over a blouse or a summer dress throughout spring to complete an outfit. Plus, they keep you warm, whilst still looking cute, which is definitely what I’m aiming for in the cooler spring months. Whilst most people would keep warm and snuggle up in a hoodie, a cardigan is much more my style and they’re a perfect addition to a girly, classic wardrobe.
However, it wasn’t until recently that I thought of wearing button-up cardigans by themselves. I was largely inspired by the gorgeous French brand Sézane, see my post inspired by their style here, and how they styled button-up cardigans with gorgeous high waisted trousers and midi skirts, so I thought I could introduce this into my own wardrobe.
I typically wear button-up cardigans with a simple bralette underneath, or I go bra-less, which is such a comfortable and sexy way to dress. The knowledge that everything is held together by a simple strip of buttons is so flirty and provocative to me, which makes me feel very womanly and sexy; which is never a bad thing! If you are more of a big-busted lady, don’t worry, as this would also look so pretty with a beautiful bra underneath.
