Fashion Police – Brand Snobbery

Today I’m here to speak up about brand snobbery. This is a topic I actually feel very passionate about as I think I encounter it quite a lot, not only in life, but within the blogging community. It seems that if you don’t regularly shop at Topshop and River Island then you might as well not have a blog, when in reality they’re out of a lot of people’s budgets, even if they’re technically ‘high street prices’.

I get a lot of my clothes from Primark, in fact there’ll be another haul coming your way soon, and I’m not ashamed to say it. Why would I pay £60 for a coat that I can get in Primark for £15? It isn’t cost effective to always keep up with everyone else, and I find it stupid to do so. Of course, certain things you’re always going to want to splurge on, but for most things Primark can often match the quality of other, more expensive, high street stores.

Due to brand snobbery I feel like lots of bloggers don’t include Primark in their hauls or lookbook posts for the fear of looking cheap and so end up disregarding a whole plethora of lovely clothes. I don’t understand it at all! I’m a self confessed bargain hunter and that will never change.

Do you agree with me? Tell me in the comments below!
