Red

Me In Red.jpg

I did my last ‘what’s trending right now’ post on the colour yellow but there’s another colour which is equally as in style – red. Classic, pretty and awfully sexy, red never truly goes out of style. I’ve collected my favourite red pieces I’ve seen online and in store and there is also a new addition to my posts – different pieces I’d style them up with. Click on the links to shop!

This little red mini skirt is so pretty, this would look so cute paired with blouses and tights into the autumn time or with a bardot top for the rest of the summer months. The raw hem adds an edge to the otherwise classic skirt style which makes it a lot more individual and youthful. For an outfit transitioning from summer into autumn, as the temperature begins to drop, I would style this skirt up with a polka dot blouse, black tights, black shoes and a red satchel style bag.

A red dress never fails to look beautiful and this textured ruffle dress from Miss Selfridge is gorgeous (plus it’s reduced from £42 to £16.50 so it’s an incredible bargain!). It is a statement piece that demands attention and also takes the ruffle trend of the season into account meaning you’re bang on trend. I would style this dress with silver accessories – silver heels (and this pair have a super cute bow detail at the back!), a silver bag and the perfect addition to any outfit, a silver bracelet.

Red Trousers

Frill hem trousers have been everywhere this season, I even have a pink pair myself, and this red pair are just as beautiful. They have small, delicate frills compared to some other styles so are more easily incorporated into your wardrobe. These would look great paired with a white sleeveless blouse, white block heels and a white bag.

Red Lipstick.jpg

For an easier way to join the red trend you could simply wear some red lipstick; I am thinking of getting back into this trend as I’d forgotten how classic, simple and beautiful it is. My favourite red lipstick to wear would have to be Rouge Edition shade 13 by Bourjois, as seen in the photo above.
